He's 9 Months for a Moment

Yep, my baby boy has been on this earth for nine months now!  So crazy!  I absolutely love being a mom more and more each day.  It is the most difficult but definitely the most rewarding job out there.  Here are some recent pictures we've taken of him.

Dallin stands up all the time now!

Taking a bath and sitting up by himself in the bath.  He loves to splash around and get mommy and daddy all wet.

Daddy spraying water on Dallin's head.

Brandon helping Dallin brush his teeth.

Open wide!  Hahahaha

Such a happy boy.

Wearing uncle Christopher's gloves.

This was Dallin just this morning.  He wanted to see the morning news too I guess.

Haha I'm not sure why he is making this face but it is just cute.  Plus I thought it would be a good one to compare Dallin at 9 months to Brandon and I around the same age.

I'm not sure what age Brandon is in this picture so I'm just judging based on him sitting up on his own and his teeth.  In my picture I am actually about 10 months or so.  I think Dallin is a good mix of the two of us but he tends to take more after Brandon.

Visit from Grandma Janet and Grandpa Tracey

Before getting to the visit from Grandma and Grandpa, I wanted to post some oh so cute pictures of Dallin because, let's face it, he's cute!  And I just can't get enough of him!

Dallin now eats spiral pasta!  This was from his first experience with it.  We took his clothes off because we weren't sure how messy he would get.  Now we just feed him, other wise he would just make a huge mess every time.

Brandon thought it would be so funny to stick cheerios on Dallin's face.

Daddy and Dallin.

Dallin got a mohawk!

Brandon also thought it would be funny to use static to stick balloons on Dallin's head while he was eating.  I love that face!  Hahaha, cracks me up every time.

Ok now Brandon's brother, Chaz had recently gotten married to his long-time girlfriend, Andrea in Georgia, but because of timing and money issues, we were not able to join the rest of the family in celebrating.  So, a couple weekends back we were excited about Brandon's parents being able to come visit us for the weekend!

When Dallin woke up the morning after they got there he was like, "Who are these people?"

Dallin with Gramps and Gran!

Grandma Janet and Dallin!....

And Grandpa sleeping in the background. :)

The new couple, Chaz and Andrea came over to hang out too.

Grandpa and Daddy worked together to lower Dallin's crib mattress because he was getting big enough to stand and topple out of it!

The girls posing for a picture.

Dallin wearing Grandpa's huge, fluffy hat!

Uncle Christopher came over to.  Dallin absolutely loves it when Christopher wears his hair like this.  He just get so excited and wants to pull it and eat it... yum!

Happy New Year!

Ok so It's been the new year for a few weeks now, but hey, I'm somewhat of a slacker and that's ok!  Of course, talking about the new year means talking about resolutions.  I hate the word "resolutions" so I'm just going to call them goals.  Resolutions always seem to get broken and then you feel like, "Dang, I guess I'll try again next year," while goals can always be cooking, even if it's on the back burner on "low" for a little bit.

One of my goals this year is to read the Old Testament.  I have read every other book of scripture except the Old Testament.  I got a bit of a head start on it before the year started so if I can just read about an average of 3 pages each day, I can have it read by the end of the year!  I am so excited!  I just started in on Numbers a couple days ago, so things look to be on track so far.  If I get behind some days, Sundays are a great catch up day.

Another one of my goals is to not "yell" so much.  The reason I put yell in quotations is because in my head, I am not "yelling" I am just speaking more authoritatively. :)  Brandon, however, hears it as yelling.  And if he hears yelling, I'm sure my kids will to.  So I am trying to nip this in the bud right now!  The way we are doing this is every time I "yell" or Brandon thinks I am "yelling" we whisper.  I know, sounds kind of silly, but it is actually working really well!  We have been feeling more of a spirit of love in our family and home.

So anyways, now to the pictures!

He is just so excited for a new year to begin!

Wearing his Happy New Year hat!

Dallin played with some rice in a bowl that night!  He loved how it felt and looked and was just amazed at it's seemingly magical properties.

We made quite a mess.  :)

Such a cute boy!

After Dallin went to bed, we invited our neighbors over to ring in the new year with us!

...

We played Mario Party on the Wii.

Then counted down and celebrated with some sparkling grape juice at midnight.

And then we threw a pumpkin....

... into the parking lot.  Happy New Year everyone!
